Befriending Peace in Daily Life

Befriending Peace in Daily Life is a series of weekly sessions for anyone interested in exploring how mindfulness and meditation can be powerful tools for grounding and connection in everyday life.

Whether you're new to mindfulness and meditation, or an experienced practitioner looking to deepen your practice through community, these sessions offer a welcoming space to experience evidence-based mindfulness and heart practices—alongside others who are intentional about cultivating more peace, connection and well-being in daily life.

Four weekly sessions are offered each month. Participants register for the four sessions at the start of the month. Those who wish to continue practicing in a group are welcome to register in subsequent months.

This offering is suitable for anyone ages 18 and older who is interested in practicing mindfulness to reduce stress and cultivate greater balance, joy, and well-being in daily life, including:

  • Beginners who wish to explore the many benefits of mindfulness and meditation

  • Experienced practitioners seeking deeper connection and practice within a supportive community

  • Older adults interested in supporting healthy aging and enhancing connection and well-being

  • Those curious about the benefits of practicing in a small-group setting

REGISTRATION & FEES

$80.00 – Series of Four Sessions

  • Four 75-minute small-group sessions on Zoom

  • Each group is limited to 9 spots and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.


    NOTE: This group does not provide clinical support or counseling and is not a substitute for psychotherapy. In some cases, individuals may be advised to consult a clinician before participating in mindfulness practice.

What to Expect

Each week, participants gather online in a small, dedicated group with an experienced mentor to explore themes that invite deeper reflection and apply evidence-based mindfulness and heart practices that cultivate valuable inner resources.

  • Explore and experience a range of time-honored practices shared in a secular format

  • Practice reflection and guided meditation, and share practice insights

  • Cultivate more mindful attention, compassion, connection, intentional joy and emotional balance

  • Discover tools to reduce stress and experience greater ease and well-being

    Each session gently will guide you to reconnect with the most loving, wise, and resourceful part of yourself and expand innate capacities that support human flourishing. With regular practice, you’ll notice some of the well-documented benefits of these time-honored practices, including:

  • Improved ability to regulate attention and be more present

  • Lower levels of stress and anxiety

  • Navigate challenging situations with less reactivity and more clarity

  • Deeper connection to yourself and healthier connections with others

  • Greater sense of fulfillment and purpose

  • Increased emotional and overall well-being

Group Agreements

To create a welcoming and supportive space for everyone, small-group participants are requested to honor the following guidelines:

  • Arrive on time and do your best to attend all sessions (barring illness or emergencies).

  • Notify the mentor in advance if you’re unable to attend a session.

  • Listen respectfully to each participant’s sharing and avoid probing someone else’s story.

  • Speak from one’s own experience and refrain from offering advice.

  • Maintain confidentiality about what others share in the group.

  • Remember that this group does not provide clinical support or counseling.
